Vacancy: Financial Agent (Contract Agent, Function Group II)

Our Representation in The Hague is looking for a financial agent. Express your interest until 10 October - 12.00 h. This is the extended deadline.

What we offer

Your daily tasks will include:

  • Supporting our team by handling financial transactions, contracts, and basic accounting tasks, using easy-to-use EC tools (such as SUMMA, Excel, and Outlook).
  • Managing invoices, payments, and budgets, making sure numbers are correct and deadlines are met.
  • Helping with calls for tenders, contacts with suppliers, and keeping track of inventory.
  • Supporting the daily organisation of our office, acting as a reliable contact point for suppliers, and helping with outreach activities.
  • Taking part in local administrative projects, audits, and environmental actions.

You will join a small and friendly team that works to simplify administration and support the Representation’s mission.

What we are looking for

We are looking for a practical, organised financial agent who enjoys working with both numbers and people.

The ideal candidate:

  • Has good knowledge of finance, administration, and accounting.
  • Has at least 3 years of relevant experience in financial, administrative, or project support work.
  • Is confident using IT tools such as Excel, Outlook, Word, and Teams.
    Has very good knowledge of English, and preferably also good knowledge of Dutch.
  • Works well in a team, is reliable, accurate, and ready to take initiative.

Experience with European Commission tools or financial procedures is an advantage, but not required. Training will be provided.

Qualifications

You should have:

  • a higher education diploma, or
  • a secondary education diploma that gives access to higher education, plus at least three years of relevant professional experience.

Only qualifications issued or recognised as equivalent by the authorities of an EU Member State (for example, by a Ministry of Education) are accepted.

Languages

  • You must have an excellent knowledge (minimum level C1) of one of the 24 official EU languages.
  • You must also have a good knowledge (minimum level B2) of a second official EU language, as needed for the role.
